Assistant Store Manager

Our client, a rapidly expanding, dynamic, retail giant is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join their team and assist them in their new stores they are opening in and around the Durban area.

Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting in managing the stores employees
  • Implementing customer service standards and promote in-store services to the customer
  • Turnover generation and business development
  • Manage the store effectively in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Control expenses within budget, including labour costs in relation to sales growth
  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained in all areas of store (including stockrooms) and till points
  • Ensure all security standards for cash, stock and assets, are implemented according to policy
  • Monitoring of stock takes
  • Ensure all administration, including stock, personnel and credit administration, is implemented according to company policy
  • Recruit, select and induct new associates
  • Ensuring that all subordinates are trained, motivated and performing their jobs according to standard
  • Ensure that welfare/disciplinary matters are dealt with quickly and fairly
  • Ensure and maintain a high level of staff motivation
  • Labour scheduling
  • Promote staff development (including appraisals) and training
  • Assume responsibility for cross-functional tasks

Substantial experience in a similar role is required and you must be proficient in SAP and Excel to be suitable for this position. Please apply if you feel you meet the requirements.
