Our client in the Hillcrest area is recruiting for an Office Manager/Underwriter, to manage staff, process policy endorsements and renewals efficiently and process claims.
- Our client in the Hillcrest area is recruiting for an Office Manager/Underwriter, to manage staff, process policy endorsements and renewals efficiently and process claims.
Responsibility for all underwriting tasks on allocated accounts.
Telephonic quoting and obtaining of new business
Handle bulk letters and e-mailing to clients
Initiate and establish relationships with existing clients.
Identify the client’s current insurance needs
Source insurance quotes for the client.
Present the obtained quotes to the client & advise the client on the best insurance option.
Clients requiring quotes who do not require meetings.
Prepare client proposal.
Present proposal/assist the client with any forms that need completing and advise client on any requirements insurance company may have.
Notify the relevant insurer of change on policy or insurance to be arranged.
Confirm insurance has been arranged to clients immediately after arranging with insurance company
Diarise and follow up on outstanding endorsements from insurance companies
Load the required endorsement onto the system
Issue the relevant documentation/ letters to the client.
Obtain authorisation for the endorsement.
Comply with all legal requirements when sending documents to clients.
Print & review the Claims Experience and Loss Ratio reports for the client.
Motor vehicle values to be revised
Contact the insurer to determine the policy renewal terms.
Meet with the insurer to discuss the policy renewal terms & negotiate favourable terms for the client.
Prepare the required documentation for the client and obtain approval for the documentation.
Discuss the policy renewal terms with the client.
Load the policy onto the system.
Send instructions to insurance companies advising them of how policy is to renew.
Send confirmation correspondence and renewal endorsements to clients confirming in depth details of how policy renewed.
Must have completed RE5 exam
Must have completed NQF level 4 studies
Must be currently registered as a representative with the FSB
Must be able to work independently
Must have numeracy skills
Minimum experience required for this position:
5 years’ relevant experience preferable
